Volunteer Conduct & Child Safety Guidelines
Our mission serves children and families. To keep everyone safe and respected, all volunteers agree to the following:
Respect & Behavior
• Treat all children and families with kindness and respect
• Use appropriate language at all times
• No yelling, shaming, or harsh discipline
Safe Interaction With Children
• Do not be alone with a child in a private space
• Always stay in visible or group settings
• Physical contact should be appropriate and minimal (example: high-five is ok, prolonged hugging is not)
Boundaries
• Do not exchange personal contact information with children
• Do not connect with children on social media
• Do not give gifts or money directly to a child without approval
Safety & Supervision
• Follow instructions from Glowing Note Foundation staff
• Report any safety concern immediately
• Do not transport children in your vehicle
Substance & Conduct Rules
• No alcohol, drugs, or smoking during activities
• Do not volunteer while under the influence
Honesty
• Provide truthful information in your volunteer application
• Follow all program rules and directions
Glowing Note Foundation reserves the right to remove any volunteer who does not follow these guidelines.
